Steven Jordan is a professional artist living in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. He was born in Anderson, South Carolina and began his career by majoring in painting at the University of South Carolina, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He continued his studies at the Art Students League in New York. In the past fifteen years, his paintings have won numerous national awards, including the Colorado Art Association Award, the Grumbacher Gold and Silver Medals, the Winsor Newton Award, the San Diego Watercolor Society Award, the Georgia Watercolor Society Bronze Medal, the Louisiana Watercolor Society Medal of Excellence, and the Emily Lowe Memorial Award from the American Watercolor Society.A portrait of his father recently won first place in the Charleston Artists Guild Annual Exhibit.

He has had paintings accepted in most major exhibitions, including Watercolor USA, Watercolor West, American Watercolor Society, and the Butler Institute of American Art. Steven is an elected member of the Rocky Mountain Watermedia Society, Watercolor West, Pastel Society of America, and in 1988 became the first South Carolina native elected to the American Watercolor Society. .

His paintings can be seen in Splash 3, Splash 4, Best of Portrait Painting, and Creative Watercolor, which are all nationally published art books that showcase the best watercolors in the nation. Steven is frequently asked to judge art competitions, speak to art organizations, and teach workshops. His recent work has been in oils and he was just accepted into the Oil Painters of America National Exibition.
